Consider choosing heart-healthy oils like olive or avocado oil which bring their own flavours and health benefits whilst making them healthier choices.
Alternatively, to save more calories you could try using an oil spray, which allows you to apply a thin layer of oil without going overboard. This method is fantastic for ensuring each piece is evenly coated, minus the excess calories. A low calorie cooking spray that uses a synthetic oil is even fewer calories so worth a try too, my favourite is Frylight.
Also, think about adding nutrient-rich extras like garlic or rosemary, which can boost flavour without the need for additional fats. Not only do they change the taste, but these ingredients also offer small extra health benefits. Experiment with other herbs and spices as well.
Flavoured Roast Potatoes
Why settle for plain air fryer roasties when you can easily jazz them up?
Garlic and rosemary are classic combinations that are always popular. Simply toss your potatoes with crushed garlic or garlic granules and fresh rosemary before cooking. This will infuse the potatoes as they roast, making them taste amazing.
Alternatively, try adding a touch of smoked paprika for a subtle spicy kick. Or mix in some parmesan cheese during the last few minutes of cooking for a savoury, cheesy crust.
For a Mediterranean twist, try olives and sun-dried tomatoes into the mix.
